Luke 6:45

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Our words say a lot about us.  Our words are an outward expression of an internal accumulation.  What have you been storing up inside your heart (your mind)?

A good man is a Spiritual man.  An evil man is a carnal man or a man who walks in the flesh.  As Christians, we can choose good or evil - we can choose to walk in the Spirit or the flesh.  This choice is based on what we do with the Word of God and this choice is made routinely.  As I choose to focus on Christ and His Word, I am also choosing to walk in the Spirit.  The more I look to His Word, the more I store up His Word as my internal treasure.  When my heart (my mind) is full of the Word of God it is full of good news and I am participating in my Spiritual nature.  A heart that is full of the Word will produce a faith-filled vocabulary.  Our words will be Spiritual when our hearts are full of the Word of God.

We can choose to fill our hearts with evil, however.  We do this by ignoring the Word of God.  Apart from Christ we are evil; our flesh is evil - it is an absence of God.  We need the Word of God to keep us from this evil nature.  When we ignore the Word we are choosing to participate in this evil nature called our flesh and our words will correspond.

Take the time to listen to yourself.  What are your choice of words saying about you?  Are you speaking faith-filled words or defeating, depressing words.   Are your words in agreement with God's promises or are they in agreement with your situations?  Are your words full of God's truth or the world's lies?

Most of us, if we are honest, need to see a change for the better in this area of our words.  The following downloads are designed to help you see that change.  Pick which ones pertain to you and read them out loud daily - even more than once a day if you are really struggling.

We were created to speak life!  Take the time to learn a new language - a language of faith, a language of life - you won't be disappointed with the outcome!
